Though most of the worries of organizations embracing Hybrid Cloud have reduced to a bare minimum, reducing Cloud costs still remains a posing challenge. In 2015, while 24 percent IT managers across the globe considered it a huge challenge ahead, the percentage has gone up by 2 percent this year too. However, companies have already started planning to implement ways of shrinking Cloud-related costs.

Both private & public clouds have been embraced by organizations as the cost-effective substitute to on-premises IT. Enterprises have also realized the need to adopt the Hybrid Cloud approach as it would allow them leverage data & applications irrespective of being in datacenter or public/private Cloud.
However, hybrid cloud environment also demands fail-proof security and governance besides the ability of smooth working of Cloud & data center apps together while exchanging data quickly. Organizations across the globe are adopting different strategies to make this vision come true. However, there are a number of barriers encountered while doing so. Private Cloud has been the first choice of enterprises with employees in excess of 1,000 while Public Cloud remains dear to SMBs with employees usually less than 1,000. Another fact revealed from the survey indicates the comfort level of enterprises while working with Cloud. It’s due to the reason that security, a major concern/challenge in Cloud hosting, has been handled well by current genre of service providers.

The survey also reveals lack of resources as the top concern for most technology managers as 32 percent confirmed the same. Cloud security has though been the top concern of only 17 percent Cloud deploying enterprises. Cloud cost management came out to be another major challenge for 26 percent (compared to 18 percent in 2013) technology managers.

The Vendor Marker Witnesses a High Too…

Considering the vendor market of cloud computing services, Amazon Web Services (AWS) leads the space with MS Azure gaining the second spot. 57 percent technology managers deploy AWS; while 17 percent deploy Azure IaaS and 13 percent deploy Azure PaaS. Adoption rate for VMware VCloud Air Public Cloud swell to 7 percent while figures for Google's App Engine and IBM SoftLayer stands at 7 percent each. Here are some key points to consider while building cloud toolbox:

Pick Up Your Niche

It is not possible that you choose your tools depending on your customers needs as they may vary from each other. As now, there are hundreds of applications and not just one or two to meet your needs. If you think that you can end up with a conglomeration of dozen of applications, that would be an expensive affair in almost all terms including research, testing, implementing and training.

The best way is to choose a customer niche, whose members need more or less the same tools. Only then, you can be an expert in handling a handful of tools for your customers.

You are the Expert

To be an expert in the domain, you need to understand your clients’ need and if you are capable to understand it, you are an expert. To meet their demands, ask them lot of queries related to their business, processes and the desired result. On that basis, research and implement a tool that brings them a desired result.

Get to know more about latest technology tools approached by other experts in the domain and use them to stay ahead.

Process is the Top Priority

Process needs to run properly to make everything smooth in the business. Process sometimes gets critical to attain success in the business, so in case a tool conflicts, the experts don’t adopt the tool until it can. For the smooth process, research for the tools already used in the business industry, test them in the firm to find out what would look the best for clients and the business and save the best for each function. Now the toolbox is ready.

Last, but not the least, feedback is important so ask to your clients about the performance of toolbox.
